Anyone tried Sport Attacks and Road attacks?

I'm looking for some winter tyres to replace the SC pro's because I don't want to wear them out on salty, wet roads when there's so much fun left in them once things dry up.

I'm undecided on whether to go for Sport attacks or Road attacks so anyone thats tried both, I'd be interested in hearing the differences. Which has the best wet grip or are they both the same? I don't commute on the bike and they would just be for "spiritted" riding during the winter on days off. I'm sure the Sport attack has enough grip but not sure whether the Road attack is going to (anyone used them on a track day?) I rarely ride on straight roads so milage isn't really an issue. 80% of their time they'll be near the edges.

Any oppinions much appreciated.

(if it helps, I could find the limits of grip on the std MEZ4's)

i just got some road atacks and only done 50 miles on em but i like the profile but i stopped and spoke to my instructor on the way home and he said sport attacks were fantastic in the dry but on damp roads he found em frightning (on a zzr1100)

The road attacks are pretty stylee in my opinion.
They feel really stable in corners.

(Even on an SV with std suspension )

I have road attacks on my Thou and on the roads they seem fine but over heat on track and get a bit squirmy

I had RAs on my old Bandit work bike. Much better than the 020s that were on it before.

Good mileage and quite sticky as well.

i had road attacks......... and loved em, did well on a track day as well

my mate just had one fitted to the back of his blade, i dont think they make a front one though

I'm seriously thinking of going for the Sport attack on the front and the Road attack on the rear in the same vein as using an SC1 SC Pro on the front and an SC2 on the back.
They should wear out at about the same time too.

Still can't find out if the Sport attack is as grippy as the Road attack in the wet.

There is loads of details about them in the section somewhere... Though I am on my second set now. As I swapped the rear after 8900 miles though I could have got more but the plug in the tyre was leaking air.

I've been using Road Attacks on my Ducati 750SS and they are brilliant tyres. The sport attacks don't work quite as well in the wet/cold and I'd be tempted to tell you to stick with road attacks front and rear. You gets tons of milage out of them on a low power bike like a 750SS or an SV650. My first rear lasted 12K miles before reaching the wear limit and that included 2 track days.

On that note the tyres were good enough to run at the front of the intermediate group at Pembrey. Even when trailing the front brake right up to the apex they felt solid an planted. Very comforting tyres with a lot of feedback. Mind you by the end of the day I was about finding the limits of them. When banked right over as far as the bike will go they do squirm a lot when coming on the power. However that's to be expected really.
