Default Induction kit

Okay, so I've fitted a Pipercross Induction Kit to my K8 sports and it's frickin' LOUD especially through 5-8k rpm. Double earplugs needed

It came with an aluminium bracket to fit it straight without the airbox. I've looked through the threads but haven't found much about induction kits. This isn't the race option so Pipercross say that it doesn't require remapping of the ecu.

First rides out- can't say for sure about a 1-3 bhp increase but grin factor increase is pretty high!

Anybody else recently tried this on a pointy? Pros/cons?

I guess it's the same principal as fitting a car cone filter; Pipercross supply a performance filter with metal plate (MPX081) to fit it in place of the airbox. The induction is right across the filter face instead of through the front 'snorkel' talked about in other threads. The noise is pretty loud once you get going!

Some of the cons might be water ingress and intake of warm air vs cold? And mpg?
Pros are small bhp increase and a little more noise as I pootle along.

I want to get a full exhaust system replacement next and then get the ecu custom mapped.

But I'm not sure yet whether to put the airbox back with the Pipercross in place.

Has anybody else run their SV with the Pipercross kit w/o air box?
