Bikes Under 33bhp?
As the SV is gone, I'm looking for a cheapish knock about just can't be bothered with the hassle of restricting.
I actually wish I kept it now and just re-insured it.. but time for a change. Initially I was going to sell the SV, get insured on mum's car & then have that to knock about for a year whilst I wait for my restriction period to reach 2 years, however after finding that Direct Line want £1,800 for a Fiesta valued at £450 I thought I'd have a look for something under 33bhp on 2 wheels. I looked at DRZ400SM's but they seem to be holding their value quite well at the moment, also RS250's but don't think I'd be able to afford total maintenance of a 2-stroke. Looking to spend £800 - £1500 for the bike, then insurance I'll knock a few quotes up on top of that. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Cheers, James |

Re: Bikes Under 33bhp?
kind of limits your bike to either small capacity ....either 125/250 or restricted.
So which is more preferable as your probably want to get somthing bigger when the restrictions up wont you? |

Yeah, next March is when my restriction is up was going to look for something with a bit more power than the SV then.

a runner 400 may be an option
or a 500 parrell twin an er5's are coppers to pick up and are tough as old boots

Re: Bikes Under 33bhp?
i spent my restriction on a honda bros 400. That makes 33bhp as standard and goes on forever - don't know how many are about still though!

A restriction kit may be the only option but there will be alot that are restricted. fleabay result for a restrictor http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Kawasaki-zxr40...item4aa1867376 a 4 stroke 250's are relatively gutless apart from the ninja 250! and a 2 stroke 250's are around 40-60 bhp And to avoid the siezure trick, keep the paperwork under the seat. I know a lot of people who do it as matter of course
