P/X price - fair?
Hi,
I have a faired 2000 sv650s and was quoted £1500 p/x maybe more pending on bike I buy, does this seem fair? It has 16000 miles on clock good condition. |

and you walked away?
run back now, it may not be too late! £1500 for a private sale is a great price! |

Re: P/X price..........fair?
Not a private sale,a px value against another bike.It all depends on what you are buying and how much you are paying.Try offering cash for the new bike and see what the purchase price really is.If you can get it a grand cheaper then you are really only being offered £600 for your old bike. Its all relative.

Re: P/X price..........fair?
I know the op is referring to a part ex, I was making a statement based on private sale value is generally been at least £200 greater than a part ex offer. He's not going to sell it for more than that privately so he may as well save all the time and hassle of listing the bike and just go for the part ex.
I can see how my previous post was easily mis-read, sorry |

The bike your buying will be about £1000 or so overpriced anyway. Last edited by speedplay; 02-10-09 at 04:56 PM. |

Re: P/X price..........fair?
£1650 for your bike is a good price for private let alone a dealer (like matt says), I'd guess the kwak was worth somewhere round the £3.2k mark. But I dunno, I've never been in the market to buy one so don't take that gestimate too seriously.

Re: P/X price..........fair?
We looked at a few zx6 a few weeks ago over there (that how I knew they were there for you to test ride).
Personally, I wouldnt buy a bike from MS as they are very over priced BUT if they are offering you the right amount for yours and you are happy to pay over the odds for a bike there, thats your choice. We only go there to test ride stuff before going elsewhere to get it cheaper |
