Could you guys recommend another type/brand of paddock stand...perhaps one that seems to work the best/easiest withoot boobins?

Bought a micron stand from HG on saturday and it works like a charm! No bobbins required! I am very chuffed!

Take it you lot are discussing K2 and before as the rear brake on the K3 is top mounted against being underslung on the previous models
