Does your low fuel light still work? My guess would be it's part of the sender unit that has broken off but as I've never had to remove/inspect one I cannot be sure.

So in prepping the tank for painting I detached the fuel filler cap, fuel level gauge and fuel **** assembly, and none of those seem to have this piece missing.

As it's smaller than the filler hole, I suspect it could have dropped in there by accident - perhaps from a set of keys.

It’s not from anything on my keys
Maybe it was in there since before I bought it (only got the bike in Jan) Ah well... bike runs fine and nothing seems to be missing |
