Clothing Insurance?
Howdy All
Does anyone here use or rate clothing insurance? My broker - express say that I can have full clothing cover for £35, up to £750 with £50 excess. Considering I have just replaced everything after trashing the old stuff during my off, do you think it is worthwhile? Funds are getting tighter that is all following excess, new gear and new stubby zorst. Drew

ermmmm, can't see your pics on your hard drive, you need to upload them first on a hosting website like photobucket then put a link to them there.

Re: Clothing Insurance?
Ah, very cool, I have to admit that would never even have occurred to me. I always just write off damaged gear but it can add up to a fair old chunk of change...

Quote:
5. Any of the following would invalidate the cover of this policy or affect the policyholder’s ability to claim; • The first £50 of any claim for Protective Clothing • Any claim for Protective Clothing arising within the first 7 days of cover • Damaged Clothing that is not beyond economical repair • Protective Clothing 10 years old and over • Claims for Protective Clothing where: • There is no personal injury involved • The matter is not reported to police where so required
under Road Traffic Acts My understanding from this is that if you have an accident, don't get hurt, you can't claim for damage!!!!! Surely that is the point of the protective clothing????

Re: Clothing Insurance?
Mine's covered under household contents too, as items away from the home. Often it's an optional extra, so I had to pay a bit more, I think it was about a tenner a year.

Re: Clothing Insurance?
Those terms and conditions are really, really badly written... Some clauses are total gibberish... Doesn't inspire confidence that.
