Default Muffler advice please!!

New to the forum,
I've had my SV for about a year now and absolutely LOVE it. I'm used to riding much heavier and older bikes this is like a breath of fresh air!
Anyway I need your help....I'm looking to change the stock muffler with an aftermarket one and don't want to spend a fortune.
I am a Brit living in Canada, but have found a Venom system from a place in the Midlands that looks like a good deal.
Does anyone out there had any experiences with this brand?
Any other suggestions?
Also my bike is a 2001 SV650S...are the models all the same worldwide?
The UK muffler would fit a Canadian bike?!?

Any help would be really appreciated!

Thanks

Jon.

Welcome to the forum

I would imagine the exhausts(as we call them) would fit any SV worldwide. Its a case of cutting the old one off and clamping on the new can.

never heard of Venom to be honest, but there is plenty of choice. Unless you are looking for power, then truly, any can will a)Look better b)Sound better, then the stock can.

Have a look at Remus if you can. They are well made, look and sound good.

Check out the Exhust section on the board for reviews etc.

Welcome to the mad house.

Venom's are distributed by Motad IIRC. Quite a fair amount of money for an exhaust that's relatively unknown in the country that makes them (that, to me, speaks volumes!)

For the same money, you could have a Fuel Exhaust. I know they only list 2002 onwards, but I gurantee that if you email them that they can supply you with a correct link pipe. That's the only different part you'd need.

Postage on an exhaust might be a little steep though, no matter who you buy one from.

Thanks,

pretty much just want something a little louder than stock (it's WAY too quiet!)
Also don't really want to **** around re jetting the carbs.

Have been looking on e-bay UK....seems to be lots more deals on there than OUR e-bay.

Here tends to have your yosh Acro etc.... but they're so bloody expensive!

anyway thanks for the advice I'll check em out!

Jon.
