Default one day bike insurance to move a bike

Hello all

Well my other half bought herself a very nice J1 ninja this weekend and its down for collection next weekend.

Anyhow just found out the guy insurance runs on friday and I was hoping to be able to ride it back for her under mine as it covers me third party.

Is there any company I can take out insurance for 1 day or a week just to cover me riding it back.

Reason she not insuring it is that she hasnt passed her test yet and the bike was to amazing value for money to say no to.

kind regards

alex

Take out an annual policy & then cancel within 14 days.

Or call your insurance company and see if they will cover it for a day under a two bike type policy? Most will

I bought a bike before I passed my test, but I went ahead and insured it TPFT anyway. I thought that not having a bike license would be an issue to the insurers but it wasn't at all (and I didn't get a reduction once I passed my test!). They wanted to see a CBT certificate but that was all - and it was an unrestricted GPZ500. I got my husband on the policy as a named rider so he could ride it home. The benefits are that she would start earning no claims bonus straight away, and even if it isn't being ridden the bike is still insured against fire & theft.

Just something to consider.

I'm sure you've thought of this but maybe borrowing a van or a car+trailer would work out less hassle/cost?
