Re: Drifting (of cars)
When my mate had his '05 Mustang we gave it a try (on private roads, naturally officer! ), but TBH we weren't much good at it, so we gave up before we totalled his car!
I love watching it done properly though - I think it's in one of the Ghostrider films where he's chasing a BMW Z3 that is drifting round all the motorway slip roads etc, looks f'in sooperb! EDIT: A great film to watch if you're into that stuff is Initial D: Drift Racer - bloody great film with lots of live-action drifting, way better than that F&F:Tokyo Drift crap, as long as you don't mind subtitles. Re: Drifting (of cars)
Yeh I drift all the time.............. on the xbox. It's great when you get the balance just right. It just looks so cool. The F50 is my favourite because it drifts well and sounds ace
Would love to be able to do it for real. |

Thats expensive though Quote:
I managed to burn through a pair of rear tires on my 305ci firebird in four weeks! I also bent the rear axle of my capri and got very dizzy most of the time trying though Quote:
Well thats the plan, buy a pooper and go out and learn.. |

Re: Drifting (of cars)
If the muppets on fifth gear can do it in vans I'm sure you could. Just find a large wet car park

Re: Drifting (of cars)
I think it was Tiff Needell who says about how he learnt to drift in a morris minor, because you could get the back end to step out at ~15mph.
Me I've done it in a hire BMW 3 series but worry far too much about breaking expensive bits (or even just shredding tyres at 280quid a pair) to try it in our car. Druid

Re: Drifting (of cars)
Also, bike drifting looks immense. Coolest stunt on a bike I reckon

Never had the bottle to try it again on tarmac after I high sided my 250. :-/ I'm happy to get the tail out on dirt but it feels wrong on tarmac. Druid

It sometimes happens if you put too much lube on your chain and go round a long left hander. I cant find a smiley to express the resultant brown star clenching manouver but there must be one in exsistence |
