Re: 2 Trackday's Snetterton 300 28/09/2011
It was a great couple of days. I turned up latish Tuesday night after work, just getting dark. Started setting my tent up and the guy "next door" offered to give me a hand, which tbh I needed. The next day I saw him in the paddock looking for a way to get a replacement lever. So I lent this guy my car and off he goes. On Thursday morning I had a little tumble and snap my foot peg hanger. I'm scratching around for a replacement and the same guy comes over gives me a hand and he comes up with a cunning plan to ask the Kwak team that were running the Saudi prince Superstock champion or whatever he was to redrill an alternative hanger to make it fit. They do it, we fit it and I'm off again. Only later we we realise me and StormingJoe are both on the org..........Coincidence eh? Both orgers, both crash and helpful as well. Happy days. . . The track was fantastic I loved it. It was hard work - I was helping The Bike Experience team and riding every hour, and in that heat it was knackering and sweltering. I spent the first day riding in the Novices and the second in the Inters. First ride of the morning in the Inters I got too competitive again, braked too late at the Montreal hairpin and screwed the line up. Had to straighten and grass track it, except the grass there isn’t flat, its like a tank range. With the Armco beckoning I had to brake and the front end went. I remember saying noooooooo as I slid down. Sore bum and hip that’s all. Broken fairing screen and the footpeg hanger. I learnt a lot, I was trying to break, change down and get my body positioned right all in too short a time. I needed to do each more separately and more controlled. So having got back on the track, it took me one more session to get my head back together and off I went. Quite happy in the Inters actually and of course all I want to do now is get back out on track again. I just find it so hard not to be competitive. If someone is catchable I want to catch them and take them. I can’t just enjoy it, although I bloody well enjoyed myself last week!!! Couple of pics below

Yes I did actually at Agostini and Palmer. Couldn't do it on the right though, I don't seem to want to get my butt off the seat on righties. When I had my tumble the left slider got torn off from the slider velcro. Later that day I got the Velcro down at Agostini going around the outside of someone. That was a bit of a shock for me I can tell you.

The brakes were a bit scarey at times, it's going back to the Garage on Saturday. I should have stopped and called it a day but it's been 25+ years without a bike before this year, and I thought nah, this is just too much fun.
