Default Front calipers.....

Intially I thought the route of my problem was a bent disc as the bike had been in an accident. So purchased discs. Same thing happening again....

I've taken the calipers off and the one on the dodgy side seems to be seized. As in it wont float. Does anyone know how to sort this cause at the moment its pulling the disc to one side.

Cheers

G

one of my calipers wasnt sliding so i ended stripping and cleaning both front calipers. i found the one of the slider pins was very coroded which stopped the caliper moving, only noticed when i put in new pads and it caused the brakes to drag

The slider which fits in a little rubber boot which inturn is sqeezed into the caliper casting, can be pinched by corrosion of the caliper pressing against the rubber, making it too tight on the slider. When you have it apart it'll make sense honest. I pulled the rubber boot thing right out, cleaned out the hole through the casting, lubed it up, and shoved the boot back in, the difference was very apparent.

Cheers guys,

I eventually got it moving, hammer hammer, but it still doesn't seem to be enough as its still making the disc move. One of the pads on that side is about half the size of the other, so I think its been going on for some time...

New pads? Recomendations on pads?

I bent my wheel in a pothole, don't notice it riding, only when I apply front brakes
