So off to the local Honda dealer. I quick blast with a hammer wrench and job was done. The rest of the job was fine.
The internals of the VFR fork are quite different to the SV. The fork cap has an adjustment screw which I assumed just wound up the preload. That doesn't seem to be the case as it connects to a rod that runs down most of the length of the tube. Maybe it controls oil flow?
Screw slot in the top is compression and the nut shape is the preloaded ueseualy.
I miss the adjustable twidlldly bits of the Daytona

Currently 2/3rds through 12 nights off work
Not much doing on the sv bar riding and cleaning. Did get myself a knackered pitbike engine for a tenner and set about learning valve clearances, clutch removal etc with the help of you tube. Even made myself an engine stand for it which will come in handy when I service my sons wee pitbike.

That's a good way to learn. Practice on something that's not critical.

New Pirelli Diablo Stradas fitted, wheel adjusters pulled out, cleaned, greased and refitted, new brake pads and a caliper overhaul/clean at the front.

Put a functional exhaust on, cleaned and re-greased the swing arm and suspension bearings, discovered the rear brake switch spring is a bitch to put on and panicked when the exhaust smoked like a ******* on a static test in the garage.

The new Fuel R1 can looks good though

Tried to get the bash plate off the KTM to change the battery. One bolt is having none of it. It's been rounded off by the previous owner and won't budge. Very frustrating.

So a tootle up into Suffolk and an afternoon spent in a mate's workshop and the bolt is finally off. Battery can now be replaced. That only took an hour and a half, 4 drill bits, several hammers and 2 mugs of tea! What a faff. However I did also get to light the BBQ using a gas blowtorch. I'm never going to bother with matches and firelighters again.

It didn't look like that, was more like this and I wasn't even staying for the BBQ.

Also this weekend I set up my new PC at home, including managing to install Office and Adobe Creative Suite without breaking anything or calling the IT department at work, which is quite good for me.

Um well I've resorted to a torch myself when we used the fire bowl as a bbq. (Some one for got to turn off the gas!).

Dispite what people say gas bbq don't taste that different from charcoal.
It's only if you burn wood that makes a flavour.
