yes, another gsxr front end swap, done
finished my gsxr 1000 k2 front end swap last night..
what a difference. the grip from the front end is awsum. (now just to put the rear shokky on) problems encounterd. 1. i used gilles vario bars. seemed like a good idea at the time but worked out to be a complete nightmare. the gap between the grips has incresed by about 5" what i meen by this is the overall width of the bars are 5" longer... not good... this messed up all the cable lenghts. 2. the speedo underreads by about 5mph. the old speeds at 5000 rpm i used to do 70mph with the new sensor it reads 65mph at 5000 rpm thats about it.. everything else went well. will post a full parts list later. |

It doesn't under-read... it over-reads slightly less than stock.

Did you use cables from the naked sv?
Are Gixer bars just longer than SV ones or is there some other reason they are so wide?

the reason is because of the gilles bars and the gsxr forks/yokes are wider to start with.. its like having a renthals put on upside down its a brand new k8 grey pointy with about 150 miles on clock and yes i will get some picys up soon as the weather is better.. Putting it on teh rear gives you a pretty accurate speedo, 120/60 is stock, 120/70 is about halfway between the 2.
