Tincture of Glayva in ones coffee but while in the cupboard acquiring said Glayva I gave a loving glance at my 1936 unopened bottle of J.Walker and the bottle of Grouse, being a 40th birthday present.[Many moons ago]
Anybody else got bottles they have had for years in the back of the cupboard?

Hmmmmmm, whilst their double wood is my normal tipple, I just might have to deviate a little......

Glenkinchie distillery (Pentcaitland, east lothian) tasting session today. 12yo nice better with a drop or three of h2o,
sherry finish (distillers choice i think)mmm not convinced,
cask strength not impressed nicer warmth than the 12 but more chemical, stick with the 12 (half the price of the cask),
Dalwhinnie double matured not as nice as the standard 15yo,
Clyneish 14yo very nice if somewhat nondescript,
lagavulin double matured was stunning, best of the bunch, I'm not normally a Lagavulin fan but woah, full flavour mild peatiness, fruity aftertones and subtle warmth, lovely (but expensive) apx £60 a bottle
All of this is obviously only in my humble uneducated opinion.

I've just poured the last of a Glenfiddich Rich Oak 14yo (New American and New Spanish cask) which was very nice, but now I have no more malt in the house, so what am I going to do when this glass is finished?

you get two tastes with your ticket, so i had my two then the wifes two then managed to sweet talk the barmaid into giving me another then one for the road, magic.
Not sure what shops you have locally but co-op r doing jura for £18 and lidl or aldi are doing tobermory for £16

Funnily enough I was in an establishment[KG will know what I mean] on Friday night in Bristol and double Glenkinchie was £2:40 a glass,as was Highland Park,Jura and several others.

As there was 11 of us we left the said bar somewhat depleted of malt whisky, full of warm glow against the snowy conditions,and talking soup.
