Default Broken chain rubbing strip.

Just noticed that the rubber chain runner thing has snapped so the bottom part is free and hanging just above the chain.

I have tried to melt it back together so will see if it holds if not will it do any harm me just cutting it off. ?

dotted lines are where its snapped .

i can see why you have it on the top of the swinging arm for the chain to run along but why do you have it along the bottom ?

Its there to protect the swingarm. It won't hurt in the short term to cut it off, but it needs replacing.

Can't you glue it in position. Silicon sealant would do it and not harm the swingarm, and would be easy to remove at a later date

Give it and the swingarm a good clean first

To replace it you're going to have to remove the swingarm, which is a pain
