Default Am I going off biking?

Just cleaned my SV again for the 3rd time in 2 weeks. Getting bloody sick of it I can tell you.

I cleaned it 9 days ago and it's covered in crap all over again. Seems like a never ending cycle. I'm starting to wonder if I can be bothered with biking at all. I only do 15 minute journeys to work and back. Takes me 10 mins to get my kit on and off at either end.

Then there's the maintenance. Balance it onto the paddock stand twice a month to oil the chain. It's only a matter of time before I drop it in the gutter.

And I'm sure my neighbours are plotting against me - something about waking them up at 5am to the sound of twin Rene's methinks

Also, I've been reading about people's offs on here recently. I had a close call year before last and I think it's only a matter of time before I have a nasty one. Is it worth the risk?

So, possibly coming to a 'for sale' thread near you- One silver SV650S K2.

I feel better for that.

Get a dirt bike for the winter - never need cleaning and oodles of fun.
I know what you mean about putting all the kit on, but I find the journey to work always puts a smile on my face when I overtake huge queues of cars and push to the front at the lights.

Put it to bed until the summer comes and the salt and crud have gone.

Got to agree here. Either go hooning around like a lunatic at the weekend in order to enjoy you bike , or put it away to keep it clean. It's no fun if it's all work . Like the idea of getting a puddle jumper - that's another option.

Putting gear on/off is a ball ache, get a scottoiler to avoid the need for as much chain maintanance, and don't clean it so throughly.

I haven't cleaned mine for months. Yes it looks a sorry mess but I can't say I'm that bothered. It shows that I ride it. I did clean my boots yesterday though to get all the salt off them. Baby wipes are wonderful things

Blimey! That's a chore that has never, ever crossed my mind

I think it'd be better if I don't start that habit....all cleaning is evil

Jo -> who would make someone a really poor housewife

Mervin..Sell it immediately! You are obviously more suited to car ownership. Yes some chores are a pain but to clean your bike religiously and then moan about it?

Get it sold, this was a mid life crisis thing anyway.Move on to something less involving.
