Lightbulb Girlie Problem . . . . help arms to short

Being a girlie I am a little smaller than most you guys. I have not changed anything on my bike I have simply got Dayatona Ladystar boots (highly recommended) and a lowered seat.

Generally I find riding OK but I went for a long rinde last night and my back was really aching.

My boyfriend was in front and said it looked like my arms was out locked, althought they weren't, I simply have to stretch out hence making me hunch over the tank only slightly.

Can bar raisers or something be fitted to the SV650s in order that I have just that little less stretch to the bars? Or should I simply go and be stretched on one of those tension things and hope that does the trick

Any suggestions welcome.

Cheers
Short armed Shell

I'm trying to sit further back in the seat (as recommended) so suffering like you.
Grip with your knees more?

Remember to, you only have a limited about of movement in the cables so you may only gain a inch or 2.

I've seen some risers that you can put at an angle as well.

The result of this would be that not only do the bars/clip-ons get raised a little, they also move back towards the seat a little.

I had this problem until I realised I was very tense (sore neck and between shoulder blades etc), so now Ive moved foward a little more (dont know if that is recommended?) as I realised I was sitting a long way back, and Ive relaxed my arms and my grip so my elbows are bent a little, using my core strength and gripping slightly with my knees for more for stability, problem seems to be solved.

Worth a try before getting your bars highered? (lengthening cables etc)

You could try these, Gilles adjustable clipons... But they are 280 quid from M&P.

Sun Risers are a good option to, much better price if I remember correctly. Though its a bit of work to get them to fit.

Hmm - I'd follow the advice of N2R look at your riding position first.

Couple of questions - do your knees stick out or do you grip with them?
When you reach for the bars do you bend from the ribs, waist, hips of any combination of these?
When cornering do you shift your weight about in the seat, knee out, hang off etc or do you just move your upper body?
Do you hunch your shoulders or push them back?

Oh OK, so more than a couple of questions then.
