Default Yo! Northwind

Can feel a project coming on - street fightering my ZX...

Don't really get on with a sports bike and as I can't afford to get a Tuono, so turn it into a Tuonoesque beast Thoughts?

Do it! You'll have few regrets if any.

Soz, the only reason I addressed it to Mr North is cos he has LOTS of experience in taking things to bits for the sake of it...

So I am trying to figure out if I can get the top yoke from a Z1000 to fit and of course there will be difficulties cos the throttle & choke cables will be too short - brake lines can just be upgraded no problems.

That would be nice.
You should do a little project feature on it, load of piccys, lots of close ups of dirty fingernails holding up greasy parts.

Like that Finnish dude PaTz with his Duc pipes. Those threads are class.

If you dont have any issues regarding comfort why not leave the clip-ons on it?

If you put on risen bars, it's preferable to replace the brake & clutch m/c aswell. Otherwise the cylinder fluid sits at a funny angle and it's awkward to fill.....

Does the yours and the Zthou have fluid clutches?
For both you'll need to check cylinder bores match.

Others to consider....
Wiring loom, will it be easy to hide?
Will it still reach the switchgear on higher bars?
You don't necessarily need the Z top yoke, how thick is the Kwak one? Are there cast-in webs for strength on the underside? You'd have to avoid drilling thru there.
How tidy is the bike with fairings off? (ie, is it ugly down there?!?!?!)
