Default Simply the best????

Following the 'worst bike' thread, who genuinely thinks the sv650 (or thou)
is the BEST bike?

Maybe there's only one better....

Or does any dare say they don't really like it - you never know!!

Best bike ever?
Best bike for the money?
Best bike for a learner?
Best bike for a racer?
Best bike for delivering pizza?
Best bike for wheelies?
etc.

Easy answer is probably no to all of the above.

But it does to everything asked of it well enough to make it very capable and a lot of fun for the money.

Not the best... Possibly the best for me right now though. I wouldn't trade mine for anything except maybe a Fazer thou, I don't think there's anything else that does the various things I want from a bike

(ie, has to commute efficiently, give some rain protection, be cheap to run, be fun to ride, quick enough, nimble, worth taking to a track, and have lots of potential for playing with/improvement. And also be cheap)

Got to be the or near the top of the pile for value new. I reckon you'd have to go a long way to find a better new bike for £4k or just under. Fazers etc may be better bulit but they are a bit more and suppsoedly don't quite have the fun factor. Even Yam 600XTs etc cost a bit more.

R1200GS or possibly the new Triumph Sprint ST, but the ST is so new that the reviews aren't in yet.

R1200GS has got more uses but i don't think it would have the same road race/ fun potential.

Just guessing though

Agreed, even with the price cut, the fazer is a bit more.

I suppose the class should be, "Best new bike for under £4K".

The GS is certainly a bit slow for racing, although meant to handle well exceptionally in the bends (I wouldnt know as Im a crap rider, hence slow is fine!). The ST has had one review in MCN and its meant to be a superb machine. But for £4k the SVs the one, I'd reckon. Mind you a 650 V-stroms not much more and a fine allrounder. But again, slower.

it's the only "big" bike i've ridden legally onthe road so for me it's a good bike.

would like to have a Tuono or a Buell but I'm quite chuffed with my SV
