Help - Bike won't start
Just looking for some help/suggestions. Went to take my bike this morning as I have an exam later. Turned the ignition on and all the lights came on as normal, then there was a small click and everything went of. Now when I turn the ignition on, nothing happens, no lights or anything.
Anyone got any suggestions as to what it may be? I'm thinking maybe a fuse or something. Is there a master fuse somewhere? Not had a chance to look yet as I had to rush for the train. Any help would be much appreciated, plan to have a look when I get home tonight. cheers Gavin |

Re: Help - Bike won't start
as said check your fuses, sounds like the main fuse like dave said - check that first.

That's great, that's what I was thinking. I thought there'd be a main fuse somewhere. I'll check that when I get home, hopefully thats all it is. Thanks for your help.

Re: Help - Bike won't start
It's a '99 curvy although it's a 2000 model if that makes any difference. Dunno how it happened but it's GCB so definetly a 2000 model so I'm told.

Re: Help - Bike won't start
If it goes again after replacing it it's time to check all your wires to see if any have worn through.

Quote:
On the right side of the bike behind the saddle shutters (black triangles) is the starter relay, its black with a 'green/yellow' cover I think, in there is a 30 amp fuse. It controls the supply to everything, so if it pops you have a dead bike. Also on the older bikes this 'starter relay' tends to corrode and do odd things to the electrics, so have a look at it and make sure nothing looks like it going green and fuzzy. |
