Re: Exhaust Cans (for a change!) - Delkevic?
Yeah the materials are far more expensive and from a manufacturing point of view Titanium is alot harder to work with (takes longer!)
Anyway I fitted the exhaust this evening and went for a little spin down to Poole bike night and............ Holy **** its loud! It scares small children, turns heads of fellow bikers as i ride down the street, under acceleration it sings and the noise when you downshift is ducati like! Not to mention the grumbling and small back firing after hard aceleration when rolling of the throttle its sweet as! My only gripe is that its not a great fit, mainly the 'P' bracket which fits round the exhaust isnt great, however little bit of adjusting when i have more time it will be fine!, Oh and a serious lack of deburring sharp edges my two middle fingers are properly deeply sliced! But all that aside, holy **** its loud and it growls! However, I passed a few biking coppers and a plod car and none battered an eyelid when i knocked it up a gear and cruised by! So me thinks its not bad! Will post pics soon! Last edited by alexh; 29-06-10 at 09:38 PM. |

Re: Exhaust Cans (for a change!) - Delkevic?
Mine was deburred to the sort of standard I'm happy with, strange. Glad you're happy with it. I haven't had the baffle out of mine yet, I haven't seen the need to

Re: Exhaust Cans (for a change!) - Delkevic?
Hi Alex,
are u sure that it has these numbers marked on it as iv been looking and if it has BS AU 193a: 1990/T3 you didnt have the small a in yours tho. Then it could be used for road as far as i could read. just google it see if you can make any sense of it? If these are road legal then i will defo have the carbon one with no baffel would be class. Keep me informed as this is of much interest Cheers Hobo |

Re: Exhaust Cans (for a change!) - Delkevic?
Will do Hobo Not sure about the 'a' i think it may have a capital 'A' but i will check later as im off to scare the local wildlife around the purbecks! I also e-mailed them as I googled it last night and its just legal mumbo jumbo! I'd just buy one, they look the nuts and ive driven past 3 sets of coppers with no issues. Do it, you know you want to! Oh and they do have a bit of a baffle, just, well, its not a very good one! and its not removable Last edited by alexh; 30-06-10 at 04:37 PM. |

Re: Exhaust Cans (for a change!) - Delkevic?
i am really tempted to like but the coppers round here love to pull over cars and bikes to a lesser extent.
i would hate to have to get rid after a couple of weeks. Who did u e-mail? on the website it said not road legal didnt it? Hobo |

Quote:
"This is an oval silencer & is made from a pre formed composite carbon fibre sleeve & high grade 304 stainless steel. They have no baffle & a 2 3/4 inch (70mm) outlet. These silencers are short open & loud, Not road legal" But correct me if im wrong but the baffle is the wire mesh tube in the silencer packed with sound absorbing material? |

Re: Exhaust Cans (for a change!) - Delkevic?
The baffle is like a hollow cylinder with one end chopped off. it slips into your exhaust to dampen the noise of it. it's illegal to ride with it taken out i think, but your can is illegal anyway :P I will be riding mine with it out. sounds alot deeper without it!
