First PROPER ride on our zx9
Im grinning from ear to ear!
Now let me explain..ive owned our 9 since i was 19....i bought her for me & tris-its just tris could legally use it and i couldnt ( im now 22) and up until today have NEVER ridden her properly, and by that i mean out on a public road-mainly due to fact that until i was 21 i wasnt legal to. Passed my test end of Aug last year and bought my sv to get some experience on. Its sunny, warm and dry so me and tris decided to go and have a play up chelveston road (local bike road), got halfway up the road when tris pulls over...gets off the 9 and hands me the keys!! Wow!!! I didnt want to give him the keys back LOL!, everything felt smoother and more comfortable compared to my lil sv-gearbox is alot smoother, front brake is alot better than mine and seat is soo comfy (corbin seat). One thing tris really noticed that my riding style changed instantly, i was going into corners alot better and was dominate in road postion etc. He was on the sv and made it look like a 125cc as hes so tall lol! Hes know said hes going to have to hide the keys to her |

Re: First PROPER ride on our zx9
Wow
I'm always interested to hear about how other bikes are differant in comparison to the SV, since thats my referance point! I'm dying to get a go on my dads GSXR you know, just to see what differance it is in the twisties (alot better, but how much better?!) Is it easier to ride fast then? Not gonna ask about the engine, since its obviously a differant animal all together! Matt |

Re: First PROPER ride on our zx9
Mines an 03 blue F2.It was the last year they made them which is a shame as they are really comfortable and practical as well as ffffffast. It will do over 50 MPG when ridden sensibly on a run,and 170MPH when not ridden sensibly(in pricate of course)

Re: First PROPER ride on our zx9
Nice one Paws!
A bigger capacity IL4 are completely different experience to the wonderful V2 of the SV. They are smoother as you have double the pots popping away. They do tend to rev out more though possibly with a more noticable power band. Biggest difference is the smoothness although some say that they might lack that 'character' of a V2. Anyway, I'm appy with my little bike. |
