Bikes in Bus Lanes Petition
I know a few folks get hot under the collar about these online petitions, but this turned up in my Inbox today. Sign up if you think it's a good idea, don't if you don't.
"There is a new petition to let us bikers into bus lanes which could make some of our journeys safer. Unfortunately the government seem to disagree, so if any of you want to sign up here is the address http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/bikesinbuslanes/" |

Re: Bikes in Bus Lanes Petition
I believe it is a locally set policy? So you can in Bath, but not in Chester (only place close to me big enough to have bus lanes). If someone knows for sure, correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Bikes in Bus Lanes Petition
I'll sign it!! I got done last november for being caught in a bus lane, I was on the white line but had to swerve into the lane to avoid a pillock on a mobile phone who obviously didnt have enough hands to talk/eat and drive in a straight line!! So yes it is different around the country depending on which borough you are in..

Re: Bikes in Bus Lanes Petition
I use them anyway. 99% of lanes in london are not for bikes. The only one that i know of is the A23. Anyway, there was a white paper and study donw on P2W using bus lanes. As like most things, it was inconclusive

Re: Bikes in Bus Lanes Petition
Signed tho I use them most of the time as I'm on shifts theyre not in operation and the cagers seem to stay out of them. Even undertook a copper the other day. Was doing 30 MPH in the bus lane which finished at 10 at 1 in the afternoon.

Re: Bikes in Bus Lanes Petition
I got done twice in December, £100. Lambeth council have got cameras everywhere. I stay away from bus lanes altogether now. You don't get points
on your license. They are just revenue generators for local councils. |
