Default Oil starvation if bike is started on a slope?

I'm due to pick up my SV at the end of the week.

I've been reading about oil starvation when pulling wheelies. My concern is that I have a steeply sloped driveway where the bike will be parked. If I start it, and let it warm up whilst on the driveway am I likely to starve the front cylinder of oil? I know its hard to say without seeing my driveway but what kind of angle will the bike have to be at before it starts getting starved?

Thanks

Your driveway would have to be fearsomely sloped to be a problem.

The oil is fed all round the engine by the pump system, don't worry about front/rear cylinders etc.

Finally, don't leave the bike sitting warming up, it really isn't good for the engine. Just start it, let it settle down for maybe 30sec or so (the cold start fuelling will ramp off during this time), then ride off gently. Best way to warm it up is by riding gently.

Suzuki must make allowances for very steep hills such as hardknock.can't see it being steeper.never warmed a bike up for more than 30secs also, sold triumph at neally 50000 no problems

I used to let my bike warm up, then when I mentioned it on here, everyone advised against it. The idea is that you start it up and ride gently until it's warmed up, this brings it up to full operating temperature as quickly as possible.

Starting it up and leaving it takes longer for it to reach full operating temperature, so the engine is working away at lower operating temperature. Apparently it doesn't do any mega damage but a will end up being noticeable over the lifetime of the use of an engine (glazing cylinders/slowly b*ggering pistons if I remember rightly?)...

Hope this helps explain a little

If your drive was steep enough for that to happen, it'd be too steep to set off on. Or you'd just fall off the back of the bike after climbing on.

You'll be fine mate, as PT6 says some people reccomend that you just bimble for the first half mile then its all warmed up and your good to hoon.

YC's drive is prolly on a parr with a decent wheelie - about 12 inch's up in the air maybe? Possibly steeper? he always brings it down for me anyway

I think if it were steep enough to cause oil starvation it would be too steep to park on its side stand without it falling over.

Dont worry about it.
