I actually have Friday off too , so could meet up if folks want to. Not really put a lot of thought into routes and the like yet, but generally if you go to North of Snowdonia you will miss any roads I'm planning. It's still almost three weeks away you know!

How about this route, you local guys?

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&so...,0.883026&z=10

Would show G the Snowdonia railway. There is a nice view point if it's a clear day. We'd do the Pen-y pass both ways. Well worth doing IIRC. Beddgelert for ice cream and a nice run back to the bunkhouse.

Opinions?

The route you take from Denbigh to LLansannan and then on to the A548 is a minor road that will be a bit crappy in places. Some of it is single lane and may well have grass growing down the middle (but you will probably miss the turning and end up in LLangernyw). I can check it out in the car...

Also you are doing the crashy ( A548 ) road in the crashy direction so take care. A548 and LLansannan will feature in Sunday's ride.

He He, saying nothing about the road from LLanrwst to Ugly House on the A5. (ask Claire about the gravel on the downhill hairpin and the 4x4 coming the other way) I'm guessing that's an oversight and you will go via Betws and the A5...

I was trying to stay off the A5 as much as possible, LP

Guessing there is going to be crud and stuff on a lot of the roads anyway, as the farmers drag muck onto it and the surface crumbles. Just musing. Depends what my travelling companions want to do and of course the weather.

Looks like a good route Pete, it's still a fair old distance from the Midlands to 'Point A' on the map though! I guess Midlands lot can meet at Quatt earlier on in the day and travel up to point A to meet the others?...

Yep and on that note, one of the reasons we instituted Friday nights at the bunkhouse was to stop folks rushing up, joining a ride and making mistakes when tired... Just don't overdo it, eh chaps?

Well, there will be plenty of options for people once we get to The Ponderosa. If they want to do Christophers triangle, they can. If they just want to chill out at the Pondy, they can. We know what we'd like to do, weather and time dependant, but nothing is set in stone. We just don't want to be sat at the bunkhouse from 4pm onwards, when we could be enjoying some roads and taking some pics.
