Out for an afternoon run of 4.2 miles on local trails at short notice with a friend. She brought all three of her dogs over so I ran her very friendly Kelpie/Collie, Harry, in tandem with Mabel. A great team the two of them made too.

A great run in a mix of warm sunshine and cold showery rain.

Relive video of the route

I got out last night, my eldest was on a Scout evening at Hatfield Forest. So I thought I'd get a run in.
I hadn't quite thought it through just how dark it was going to be. My son even said " Are you sure you want to do this?"

Yeah why not.
Lets just say apart from 20 Scouts who played games practically in the car park, I was the only nutjob in the forest. Well the only person, damn I never knew there were so many critters there.
By day you are lucky to see anything, by night every bush had at least one set of glowing eyes peering out. There were more deer there than I had thought.
Seeing a badger (alive) up close was pretty cool.

It was a little eery.

I managed just under 5 miles but had then had enough. It didn't help that 2 mins into the run I remembered just how slippery a board walk gets when wet. Shame I hadn't remembered before my foot touched it.
I went down like a sack of ****. My hip doesn't like me today.

Still it was an experience.

That sounds like an entertaining run Martin! Hope you've not damaged yourself too badly.

Out for a social run with 3 other Powys Canicross members on Saturday. Forgot to take my Garmin with me so a couple of the others tagged me on their runs. Really enjoyable run of just under 5 miles in the grounds of Gregynog Hall.

Heading out to Chirk Castle tomorrow morning for the Trust10K. Lovely trail run although there’s a fairly long and brutal uphill section at the end of each 5k lap. It may also be a bit soggy underfoot!

I’ll remember to take my Garmin with me this time.....

Well, that was a fabulous run in the sun. The wind was pretty keen though so I was glad to have worn a base layer. Loads of folks there from Canicross Clwyd, someone from Shropshire Canicross, and me from Powys Canicross. It was good to see so many people running with dogs.

I remembered to take my Garmin too. Shame I forgot to charge it though, the battery was totally flat.

10k altogether, on glorious trails through woodland and across fields. The ground wasn’t too bad either with just a few muddy sections in a woodland area, which is often muddy anyway.

So glad I got out to do this now.

I’m off to put my Garmin on charge!

Two weeks after the Ridgeway race where my knee/leg went, it's still giving me trouble. I did manage to get out for a 10 mile long slow run, though - the longest since September 2017 - but needed to walk down(!) some of the hills, which is different.

I too got out this morning, with my eldest on his bike. 6.6 miles. It was a nice run, but the wind was pretty fresh.
