Default HPI check

What details of the bike do you need for an HPI check? Do you need the owners details as well as the bikes (i.e. name and address)?! And how long does it take?!

You can do them online and all you need is a registration number, sometimes the VIN number is also asked for. If you do it online you can get the result immediately.

I usually either use the one through autotrader or have run the RAC.

RAC use the HPI Database.

I'm pretty sure Autotrader use Experian Automotive.

Before you spend your pennies, try this site
https://www.freevehiclecheck.co.uk/
Its not as thorough as the ones you pay for, but if it does say there is something wrong with the bike, then at least you won't have wasted your money

Cool, but when it got to the 'enter your details here' bit I realised why it was free ... presumably you go on a mailing list and get nuisance emails and calls trying to sell you stuff, so I bailed at that point

I used www.checkbike.co.uk for the last bike I bought.

Used the Reg and VIN.
