if you think that a standard SV is good you should try a full fettled one with proper brakes and suspension.

I know what you mean. Just changing the rear shock and upgrading the front springs makes it feel like a different bike and having stripped and reburbed the front brakes helps too (thankyou Tamsen Cooper!) A bike with high end kit on it would transform the humble SV I am sure.

Even my stock SV AL7 is way more capable than I am these days ( and a bit more comfortable since I put Silkolene 10W in forks ), I don't think I am Marc Marquez, not on public roads anyway, but not much chicken strip showing on new Avon tyres after a few rides. I rely on LED headlight and twin 10W LED spots to stop people pulling out on me and an auxiliary flashing brake light to stop them shunting me. Oh and exhaust is stock.... ( the neigbours thanked me ).
