Hey Geeks (memory)
Whats the difference between
DDR2 PC2-5300C5 200-Pin SODIMM Module and 200-pin SODIMM, DDR PC3200 memory module? Looking to upgrade vernas laptop. One seems more expensive than the other. |

Re: Hey Geeks (memory)
If you have a motherboard that requires DDR2 then DDR will not work, and vice-versa I believe.
DDR2 is the next gen from DDR, now I beleive that we have DDR3 out as well |

Re: Hey Geeks (memory)
More expensive = faster = better.
However as its for Verna's laptop you SHOULD be ok to go with the cheap stuff - the speed difference wont be THAT noticable if all she is doing is email and surfing for porn. Only really matters when it comes to stuff like games. Use the tool on the Crucial Memory website to get their recommendation. http://crucial.com/uk/promo/index.as...g=UKLP_NEWYEAR

Good point - missed that aspect and only saw the speed stuff. Still think the Crucial website is the way to go tho
