Re: What Is Your Earliest Memory?
Wondered about the false memories thing after the case about the screwed up scum who raped a two year old child, same upstanding citizen who battered "Baby P" to death. Without wanting to cast doubt upon the court's decision (and besides, said scum is already in prison and will likely remain so for "Baby P") it struck me as skating on thin ice to rely upon the memories of a two year old which could so easily have been implanted, deliberately or otherwise. That said, I imagine anything that horrific is likely to burn itself into your brain regardless of age. Can only hope that in time it's reduced to snapshots of a nightmare rather than complete vivid recollection.
Anyway, wanderings aside, my personal recollections get me no further back than about 4 1/2 - I definitely remember several of my first days at primary school and I have a few glimpses of life before primary school but nothing I'm particularly sure on. |

Re: What Is Your Earliest Memory?
I have lots of early memories but only snippets of them. The earliest i can remember vividly is my uncle falling on me and breaking my leg when i was three, can't remember the pain but can remember crying alot, everyone panicing and my dad racing me to the hospital in the car. An earlier one than that is my nan coming to visit, my sister and me had a tent up in the living room i can remember my nan poking her head through then joining us in the tent.

Re: What Is Your Earliest Memory?
How do people remember if they were 3 and a half? I'm amazed you were getting into fractions at that age, how good was education back then!
I was 3 (I think) when I fell through a glass grate thing while walking past a shop. I fell onto some cardboard boxes in this old lady's cellar and I was eating a bag of crisps at the time, I ended up biting my tongue and could only drink Ribena for the next day or two Consequently, ever since then I have hated walking over grates outside shops and I have to jump/walk around them |

Re: What Is Your Earliest Memory?
Ask the parents. For instance my mother can tell me the holiday in Wales was in August, and that I was two at the time, so actually I was more like 2 1/4, but thats getting a bit too pedantic eh?
