Nice lightning pic K - I managed to sleep through it all so maybe next time.

My pic/achievement of the day is replacing the flush diaphragm thingy in the loo. The old one (at the top - you probably guessed) is paper thin and almost brittle now but that has lasted fairly well at 17 years. The twin of the bottom one is now installed and the flush is back to normal now instead of crank, crank, crank, swear, crank, crank, ah there it goes. Thankfully.

Fitting it was a doddle too but not what I wanted to be doing on my day off...

The Panasonic G1 is turning out to be a pretty decent little camera.

I'm impressed that you could get that part. Usually you end up replacing the whole unit on these modern toilets.

Just looked up the GX7, not a bad looking camera. I bought mine mostly for vintage lenses but didn't really get into it. Bought a proper lens for it and use it when I want dslr quality without hefting my D5200 around. Vari angle screen is used for low or overhead shots. My G1 lacks video though.

Yes DSLRs are okay but there are times when something more compact is useful. I've used a Fuji X-A1 from work on occasion but the lack of viewfinder is annoying. Sony 6000 is nice too.

The Panasonic range will all be micro four thirds whereas the Sony range should be APSC so better for low light. The older Sony range were the NEX models but if you can get an Alpha for a good price.

I'm toying with the idea of going to MFT as I just don't use my DSLR enough because of the weight. Trouble is I know I'll be wishing I had moved to mirrorless FF all the time so I'll probably go for an EOS RP at some point with the 24-105 RF L. Trouble is that's just as heavy as my 700D with 18-135. Fuji XT-30 maybe. Oh I just don't know!

Too much choice I think. I quite like the Olympus omd10 especially if you get the twin lens kit. Very tactile to use.
My d700 is still my go to camera for serious work but a second quality camera in a smaller size is on my wish list.
The canon m50 is also worth considering as it would take my efs lenses with an adapter.

I might have to start looking for a new compact. My TZ35 is starting to act up a bit, sometimes it won't zoom properly. I might have to see if there is a firmware update for it.
