Default Green coolant - what brand?

I bought my K6 S from a Suzi dealer, and they serviced it pre-sale. The coolant they used is a bright Kermit green, anyone know what brand coolant they might have used?

I'd like to use the same brand when I change it in a couple of months.

Thanks for any pointers.

Putoline coolant. That's what my SV had and still has when I bought a bottle from a dealer.

When the coolant drains it likes to make a mess as it squirts out of the drain hole (ooer!!).

Make sure you have a bucket and some rags handy.

Flush it properly and use a quality product .
Premix has to be an easy choice if you live in a hard water area.

drain it and use halfords pink...

2 years is not a long time for coolant and im on year 5 after changing it to halfords pink. my bike is left out in all weathers without a cover and it still runs fine and cool in the summer and never frozen in the winter but i would guess its needing changed now. the coolant has never needed topped up either.

Opie Oils have a great write well worth a read about coolants on their website.
http://www.opieoils.co.uk/t-car-moto...explained.aspx

Suzuki recommends that you use silicate free coolant on your bike. Brand and colour are not technically relevant.

I use Halfords silicate free OAT (organic acid technology) 50/50 premix which is suitable for mixed metal cooing systems - will last 5 years before replacement. The antifreeze bit is colourless and does not degrade as quickly over time, as the corrosion inhibitor package, which gets depleted first. The colour is just there basically to show up leak sites and does not confer any special properties. The only proviso is that Opie say 'don't use OAT of there are yellow metals (brass / copper) in the cooling system - metals which has not been used in vehicle systems for a long time - that is why IAT / silicate is used in older cars (pre 1998 ). Don't be tempted to use HOAT (Hybrid Organic acid technology) as this will contain phosphates and silicates, to make it compatible with special or older engines.

Silicates can damage seals and water pump - they used to be present in older antifreeze mixes for special reasons, and you can still get them for older 'classic' vehicles.
