Campsite near Shrewsbury please
As per title.
Anyone know a decent site close to Shrewsbury for my family and I. Cost not an issue, we're only staying one night whilst we go to the Shrewsbury Food Festival. Cheers chums! Pete

Re: Campsite near Shrewsbury please
The one we stayed at just outside Wem for the ARTNW in 2011 would be good, not far from Shrewsbury.
I'll find it in a sec. |

Re: Campsite near Shrewsbury please
used that place to take the grandkids a few years back after sampling it with the org.
Get the timing right and they have a beer festival. Swimming pool clean, Toilets/showers were excellent, bars OK. food on site OK. water local to the tent site, plenty of electric hook up if you need luxury like a kettle/toaster. Only gripe was the little Hitler who had a go at the speed Michelle was driving, I doubt more than 5mph as the humps would have ripped her suspension apart, but too fast for him. And he griped at someone else because they placed their tent at the wrong side of the pitch. Cars to the right, tent to the left. He actually made them take their tent down and re-pitch it.

Re: Campsite near Shrewsbury please
Looks good, but too far from Shrewsbury. Looking at a taxi to and from town so beer can sampled!

Re: Campsite near Shrewsbury please
If you get no joy I'll ask FIL as he lives in Clive, a few miles north of Shrewsbury - he may know of somewhere within taxi distance. You could also try camping at, say, Wem which is only a short train ride into town.

Re: Campsite near Shrewsbury please
I'm based in Shrewsbury. We used this place for the AR in 2006 though it was under different management then.
http://www.thewingfieldcaravanpark.co.uk/camping.html I didn't stay there myself but I didn't hear any complaints from those that did.
