North Wales (Wakestock + Abersoch)
There are some links to pics as I have no idea how to re-size forum pictures and didn't want to ruin the page layout.
Yesterday I finished work at 5, 20 minutes later I was on the way to Abersoch, North Wales to see an old friend as well as Wakestock music/wakeboarding festival, I'm sure members from the Boarder Patrol are aware as traffic in some parts of N.Wales tomorrow will be pretty busy! Anyway, I've never been to Wales in all fairness, my mates we shocked as I tend to enjoy travelling and try it at most opportunities. All I can say is that I'm disappointed at myself for never going up until now as some of the views, and roads are incredible, during a massive down poor views were limited, but sun shine on the way back made up for it! The roads and views took me by shock just as Derbyshire did with the Peak District espically, as I would of never thought something so close could look so spectacular and beautiful. A long story short, Wednesday a plan was made to see a friend who we all use to go to school with, and go to Wakestock as she'd pestered for the last 2 years to go. Wakestock was incredibly wet, and incredibly muddy, however the cure of alcohol, and music in shorts, t-shirt and etnies which now all are destroyed resolved the issue of coldness and being caped in crap. I can say the views, and atmosphere in Abersoch were surreal so to speak from my current way of life in a fairly large town. The view from the front door of my friend's house was one that took me by shock this morning as not arriving back there till 3am - http://5wire.co.uk/james/wales/Photo0030.jpg We took the A5 through North Wales, here is the route we took; http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&so...e=UTF8&t=h&z=9 Here are 2 more pictures of the bay I took whilst me and a mate went for a nose round and other people ate; http://5wire.co.uk/james/wales/Photo0034.jpg http://5wire.co.uk/james/wales/Photo0035.jpg .. and for some reason as I got in the car this was in the pouch in the back right in front of me, Carling isn't the best but it'll do! http://5wire.co.uk/james/wales/Photo0024.jpg .. However I found there were a lot of police about as we travelled through Wales, in England we didnt see one police car, throughout Wales we saw fingers & toes amount, a great deal of speed camera signs (nice to see how money is spent). Whilst at Abersoch we only saw one or two and they were unmarked. In conclusion, Abersoch is a beautiful place along with the majority of North Wales we travelled through, and I'd happily travel there again but this time on my bike and not passenger in a stuffed 206. |
