Re: The running thread.
Had intended up till this morning to go to Chirk for the Trust10k, but really couldn't face driving just me and Mabel on a 70 mile round trip in my dirty old diesel, so decided to do a run to Quakers and back.
Out along Llwybr Ann Griffiths and back along Ffordd Glyndŵr. Really wet and muddy, impossible to get any sort of pace going. Still, a good workout I guess! Forgot to restart the Garmin until half a mile into the return leg. The relive video After nearly 9 miles and a swim in the river to wash off the mud, Mabel is now stacked out in her bed! Re: The running thread.
Local 5 mile race for me - finished without either my ankle or hip complaining too much, which is as much as I can hope for.
https://www.strava.com/activities/2887384254 Not a long run, but I'm feeling like Mabel looks now! |

Re: The running thread.
Excellent afternoon run of 7.5 miles with a friend, from Welshpool leisure centre, along the canal and then up to a nearby trig point, before descending to a point 3 miles further up the canal and then back to Welshpool.
Sigh....forgot to take my Garmin with me - again! Fortunately my running buddy took hers, so she’s going to send me the gpx file so I can stick it up on Strava. Some bits of the route were really muddy and following Mabel was like following a vehicle in the wet; I was plastered up to my thighs in the muddy spray she was chucking up behind her! Mabel is crashed in her bed, and my calves are pretty achy. Around 9 miles on Sunday and 7.5 today have left their mark. I need to get out more (as the expression goes). I’ll post a link to the route when I get the gpx. Last edited by garynortheast; 26-11-19 at 08:23 PM. |

Re: The running thread.
A good weekend of running for me - I managed to run on both days, which I've been avoiding for a long time now, so another sign things are heading in the right direction, I hope. parkrun on Saturday and a local cross-country Sunday League match today.
https://www.strava.com/activities/2903675543 Very muddy and slippery (I should have worn more aggressive shoes) but a whole load of fun. |

Re: The running thread.
I went out for a sprint/walk/sprint/walk tonight for a change. My chest was aching when I got in! Feels great running full speed though and means I'm out in the cold for less time

Re: The running thread.
Well done chaps! I’ve not had the chance to get out since Tuesdays run. I was invited out on a social run on Thursday but my calves still felt a bit to tight from Tuesday. I’m going to try and get out tomorrow afternoon when I get home I think.

Re: The running thread.
It's been a good week of running for me - the most miles since September 2017 and the longest run today, 18 miles running between yarn-bombed postboxes in St Albans.
https://www.strava.com/activities/2919731399 St Albans Postboxes Gary - I hope you managed to get out this weekend. You can't overestimate the positive impact of a good mindful run. |

Re: The running thread.
Well done on getting out and a damn good distance too.
Unfortunately not managed to get out at all for sometime. Working yesterday to try and catch up on what I didn't manage to do during this past week from hell. I really do need to get out, desperately need the headspace. Looking at sometime during this next week though before I'll get the chance. |

Re: The running thread.
Got out for another sprint/walk/sprint/walk tonight. It's so much more stimulating than just plodding along jogging. You get the rush of going flat out, then instantly get to recover.
