Default Clear tail lights for pointy??

Anyone know whether you can get clear tail lights for a pointy??

There's a company in america selling some on ebay, but they have the indicators built in, like an american car. Does anyone know somewhere in the UK that sells something similar??

Thanks

Tony

if you buy the one off ebay you dont have to wire the indicator option in.

Out of interest, has anyone with the clear tail lights for the pointy experienced this: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=90593
problem?

I'm giving serious thought to replacing my existing tail light with a clear one (as I reckon an astute/observant/picky mechanic would MOT fail it and the MOT is due in August). These are cheaper than the OE ones (£90) and hopefully don't have the same flaw as the OE ones (a few other K4 owners seem to have it). I just wanted to confirm they don't suffer from this problem...

TIA.

If you wire up the indicator function of the rear light/indicator units you will be breaking the law.

1) The indicators are too close together, so illegal.

2) If you leave your stock indicators on as well, its illegal to have more than one indicator per side at the front/back of your bike.

So SOL if you wire them in.

Yes, I wouldn't be doing this. Solely looking to use it as a replacement for a more expensive (and possibly flawed) OE item.

Actually thinking about this and applying Number Plate logic....

Quick intro to the subject of Number Plate logic.

It goes like this......

If your Number Plate is too small/has non-standard Font then it doesn't count as a number plate, so thats what you get done for.

So if the Indicators are too close together, does that disqualify them as being classed as Indicators?

I quite like the look if the clear ones, even with the indys - the thing that puts me off is that the orange LED's are on the right of the left ones on both sides - now if they were on the outside or inside of both that would work.

Yep when it comes to symmetrical or geometrical stuff I can be a little "funny"
