![]() ![]() I keep my bike garaged ,when the bike dryed off from the days before riding, the dripped water on the ground is White Salt crystals!!! ![]() Never noticed it before! Has anyone else noticed? or is it just the Local Council round here?

Someone elsewhere was discussing this. The conclusion was that the new salt/grit mix with the molasses extract is more difficult to wash off (that's exactly what is intended, it doesn't wash off the road as easily).
Using warm water to wash it off the bike might work, it should dissolve it better. While the point about the faster chemical reaction is true, once it cools down you're better off with less salt left on the bike. The words rock and hard place spring to mind. ....and yes, my drive is now white where the car stands ![]() |

In Cardiff (Wenvoe) last night, my back wheel kicked out in a pile (I do mean a pile, not just a thin coating, it was about 2" thick!) of salt in the edge of the road.
