Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago, but my rear brake is very spongey and theres a lot of travel on the pedal before it has any effect. My fluid is fine and the pads are relatively new so i assume, as you lovely lot suggested, its probably just the crap rubber hoses. So i phoned my local workshop (UFO, Huntingdon, not Suzuki) and they quoted me £25 per line (i assume i need 3) plus 3/4 hour labour, totalling about £120.
This seems really cheap cos when i look on ebay a set of lines is about £115. So does this quote sound good to you? Have i just been looking at the expensive sets on ebay? What d'ya reckon?? Some things i'll have a go at myself but not this!! |

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
Don't sound too bad, price is similar to Wemoto's and they haven't ripped you off on the labour.
For peace of mind, if you're not confident in doing this yourself, then get them to do it. If you were closer, I'd happily help you do the swap, but you wouldn't be saving much. I think I have a couple of spare Stainless bleed nipples which will fit yours, good to fit in the long term. If you want them let me know

Re: 'Ere 'ere is the EAR Megathread
In case you're wondering why ive just posted at some ridiculous hour of the morning i've just got back from taking my 4 yr old to hospital, he's decided to choose tonight to have his first ever bout of asthma
God knows where it came from, noone else in the family has ever had anything like it, but he was up coughing last night, all night, and tonight he went to sleep as normal, but instead of the coughing i expected, his breathing has just deteriorated until he woke up to tell me his teddy was squeaking, although it was actually him!! So a call to NHS direct, wake the other two to go to their dads, and 30 mins later we're in hospital and i'm trying to get the little monkey to use an inhaler at 3am! Honestly, kids!!! |
