Default Cutting out as pulling up to junctions

Looking for some pearls from the guru's.

So I have had my sv650s 2010 faired since last December and bought from a guy off here. Done maybe 2000 miles on it without any trouble. (1000 3 weeks ago to Scotland and back)

So today I was out for a quick blast and as I was pulling up to a couple of junctions the bike stalled, however not everytime. It stalled the first time with the clutch engaged however the second time the clutch was out as it started to stall and I tried to pull it in to save it but it still died. After a couple of on offs it let me start again and pull away although once after it died as i was pulling away.

Bit of extra info checked the clutch switch, kill switch and sidestand switch with a multi meter and they all show open/closed as expected when operating. Oil level is just below the full line as is the coolant and it idles roughly 13/1400.

Cheers

Graeme

It was dry today, my bike has the front fender extender and I always blow out as much water as possible with a airline after washing. Worth a check though so will check tomorrow. The fact it's intermittent that's frustrating.

Maybe tip over sensor come loose. It's under the seat somewhere.

Its worth pulling the plugs to see what state they are in and cleaning them. You may have a problem with the mixture which will show as sooty or very white plugs. The intermittant thing might be a dodgy temp sensor making it run too rich as though for a cold start.

Hmm I'd check the carb balance, the tip over switch, and also the main connector from the solenoid to the rest of the bike (the square plug) as it has been known for the main pin to start to melt into the plug and lose contact, but usually you notice other things as well (crazy tacho etc.), sooner or later
