Instead you could go to Bolton West Services on the M61 Southbound.

Off the M61 to get fuel, looking for the pointer to fuel as I didnt want the food at the services.

About to go into the main carpark when I spot that fuel is to the left, so adjust course.

This runs me a little wide, and straight at the crack in the tarmac that leads to a pile of gravel.

When I say crack I mean crevice and when I say crevice, well lets just say that as I was looking at it and thinking that if I went into it I would be down I half expected an X-Wing, the Millenium Falcon and maybe a couple of TIE-Fighters to come out.

Ok maybe it wasnt THAT big, but it was big enough to influence the course of my wheel, and my prophecy of minutes before came true.

So usual injuries to the bike, Clutch Lever, Gear Lever, Crash Bung and Indicator - tho the indy is salvagable.

Didnt get off as lightly as I usually do, dislocated my right thumb (popped it back in before I took my glove off - so no big deal) banged up my left little finger, dont think its broken, but has now seriously swollen/turned purple and I also banged my left ankle, but have been walking on it so just bruised I thing.

Just got in after 10 hours, relayed back by the AA.

if the crack was that big is there any chance on a whinge to the local council for not keeping their highways in order ???
