Not tinkered myself, as I have no mechanical aptitude. Somebody on here (I think Bibio) mentioned that changing the fork oil would be a good idea on an older bike, As the bike is 14 years old and due for a service, I asked my mechanic friend to change the fork oil as part of its service. Turns out I had mayonnaise instead of oil in the forks. The bike rides much better now.

Don't blame ya.Ireland and West coast got it bad.Next to nothing here in E.Yorkshire.

As for what I did to me bike.Re-applied me special Moly/Gearbox oil/Chain-Saw oil mix to me chain and cleaned of the spin-off I always get with it from rear wheel.

Getting close to 4,000 miles on the new Chain and Sprocket and still not had to adjust.Used same mix years ago on me old Norton Dominator 500 and got over 30K on the chain and sprockets

PS
Also changed oil the other week for some,"Smith and Allen" motorcycle oil.

£19 for 5 liters delivered to the door.

I decided to try it on the reviews,

I have not been disappointed.

The Motul oil I had used was good, this S&A is as good if not better.Gearbox like butter and engine well free revving

A few weeks ago I was filling up at my local Shell station, and noticed that someone had left a freshly-opened bottle of Wynns Injector Cleaner on top of the pump, and it still had about 50ml in it. So I sniffed it (to check it was the real stuff) and dumped it in the tank.

100 miles later and the bike was running sharper. So I've been adding some Redline fuel system & injector cleaner to the past couple of tankfuls, and the bike feels sharper still as a result.

The good thing about this kind of liquid servicing is that it's cheap and easy to do/use and once a good glug has been used you only need a little top-up now and then.

I've just added about 50 ml to a near full tank after a ride-out as I don't know how long it will be before I use the bike again as my work can take me away so I like to use the additives as a fuel stabilizer.Cheap and easy fuel insurance to me

corrected the tps line on my K3 and tightened the chain slack a bit on Saturday , just that made a huge difference in the way the throttle responded frm take off its no longer jjumpy/jerky and also lessened the engine breaking quite lot, bike sounds much better and seems to be moving much faster than before, just need to clean the DNA filter mechanic told me not to add any oil o it after cleaning it...

cleaned the airfilter, man was it dirty had to repeat the process about 5 times, sprayed it a little with Q20/WD40 just so it catches the dust, would say that after all these things i have tinkered with the bikes response is way better i reached 200km/h with ease this morning and didn't feel a heaviness of the throttle this is one hell of a great bike

if the filter you cleaned was the original filter (OEM) then go and buy a new air filter as you have just destroyed yours. paper filters are designed to be run dry and only lightly shaken to remove flies etc.etc oiling it will destroy it and may indeed come apart and get sucked into the carbs/tb's.

if you have a K&N filter then bash on.
