Just had an interesting job interview for a new contract. The FD seemed very nice and the interim planning lead I'd be working with seemed to be on the same wavelength as me in several ways. She walked me out and as we chatted it turns out that she has a Pan Euro and her wife a Beemer Boxer, they go touring a lot and head out to biker caffs for breakfast at the weekends. No wonder we seemed to get along so well. Shame I have to wait until the end of the week before they decide who to take on.

Life sure is getting complicated, when I hear blokes referring to 'their husband' and women referring to 'their wife' - I don't know quite what to think, so if two bloke get married they are both each others husband and two women are both the others wife ? I think we need some new words to cover this. We need new words to cover the myriad of permutations of marriage and civil partnerships of men, women, bi-sexual, trans-sexual etc. etc.

Must be getting old, I can remember when marriage was a man and a woman.

It's not actually cold here, temps are in at least the mid teens. It's just peeing down and grey and miserable.

Chester has some amazing roman remains, a nice cathedral, wall walk, some cracking old pubs and some lovely buildings. And it rained most of the time we were there... Great place for a long weekend.

I'll download my pics later as we've not been back long. Hopefully there will be a few keepers in there that are not too grey and dreary.

There comes a time in life when one realises it's no longer possible to burn the candle at both ends. Sigh...

I had two really late nights earlier this week, followed by early mornings. I have been really tired all week and never properly caught up on my sleep.

And.... it's going to be 4am on Sunday morning before I get to bed as well, as I'm playing for a twmpath on Saturday night and it involves a three and a half hour drive either side of the gig.

Folk n' Roll eh......

Welcome to my world, by the end of my working week I'm always fecked. Takes 2 days to get back to normal. I don't have a regular shift pattern during my week, its work driven, so I can't get into an early, late or night shift routine.

This week was especially bad, as long travelling days Monday & Tuesday, not physically demanding, but mentally tiring.

Thursday was an early start with a beast of a physical working day, not helped by a crap nights sleep into Friday, down to the various aches and pains.

Still I'm out tonight to a mates 50th birthday drinks, even though I can't drink like I used to, but its in walking distance, so no car required.

Just got home and unloaded the PA system from the car and put it away. 190 mile round trip to play for a gig in Bangor. I need my bed!
