Default Air filter and race cans.

Hey guys,

I have fitted race cans and a high flow filter to my Zed (which is FI). I don't yet have a Power Commander but can't really tell if it's done anything. If anything I'd say it feels slower. Could this be the case or is it just likely to be my imagination?

Dan

its you mate, you're getting older!

when I added my PiperX filter and race cans, the bike ran lean until I increased the mixture.

Okay excuse my ignornance, will running it lean (too much air not enough fuel) make it slower?

Yep, moving away from ideal to either rich or lean kills power. Lean has the side affect of running hot and can damage your engine if used for too long or it's too lean.
