Default Main Beam problem

SV650s K3

When I use the 'Pass' button, nothing happens - ie, normal dipped headlight remains on but no main beam.

When I switch the main beam button on, all of the headlights go out.

Tried swapping bulbs but that hasn't sorted it.

Is it likely to be a fuse or switchgear problem?

Need to get it sorted as its MOT time in a few weeks.

Thanks very much for any advice

Sounds like it may be an earth problem on your main beam make sure all the connection are clean and tight

Have you checked the high-beam circuit's fuse? Might just be blown/loose/non-existant e.t.c.

High and low beam share their 'earth', so if it were duff neither would work.

Like Matt says; check the fuse, if not that then the problem lies somewhere on the line:
- Yellow wire in left side switchgear to block connector, (after junction dip/pass switch).
- Block connector loom/left side switches.
- Yellow/blue wire from block to fusebox.
- Fusebox connections and holder.
- Yellow wire from fusebox to headlight connector.
- Headlight connector.

He said he swapped the bulbs, so unless both bulbs highbeam filament has blown then it's not that.
