Fork swap...... again and again and again and again :(
Hi All, sorry to bring this up again but I just noticed in the FAQ section, someone recommended pre SRAD forks for a curvy because the steering stems are the same. Does anyone know if these forks are any good? They'll be cheaper I'm sure but worth the saving?
any advice will be much appreciated |

Re: Fork swap...... again :)
SRAD forks are the most popular, easy to get hold of and the forks are better than pre-SRAD too.
To be honest that is all I can offer, I have only worked on an SV with forks off of a pre-SRAD I have never fitted them. |

Re: Fork swap...... again :)
i'm really interested in this as well. pre srad front ends work out way cheaper. a german chap on svrider.com told me it's possible and that his wife's bike has '95 gixxer forks. steering lock doesn't line up tho apparently.

Pre-SRAD forsk aren't that great, the SRAD forks are well suited to the SV and can be revalved and set-up to suit perfectly rather easily and cheaply.

Re: Fork swap...... again :)
They definately do fit- though I forget which ones work well- but that's just not the advantage it seems- the SRAD yokes fit perfectly with just a top bearing swap from Twin Works Factory so it's really no hardship at all to use those instead. For the curvy, nothing else makes sense really on a street bike.
