SV650.org - SV650 & Gladius 650 Forum

Idle Banter For non SV and non bike related chat (and the odd bit of humour - but if any post isn't suitable it'll get deleted real quick).
There's also a "U" rating so please respect this. Newbies can also say "hello" here too.

Default Is the .org normal?

Do other forums have the same kind of helpfulness that this one does?
Are organs just awesome people by nature?
I started a couple of threads recently to get some tyres and a brake part. I expected people to post their advice and recommendations, and they did. What I didn't expect is for guys I've never met to go out of their way and give up their time to help out a total stranger/idiot (me!) asking for nothing in return.
Soulkiss spent a saturday morning riding with me up to a tyre shop, and then waited while they fitted them to show me the way home.
Jambo spent a couple of hours after work pulling pins out of calipers, not exactly a pleasant job and he really was a massive help.
I cant imagine you would get this anywhere else.
Thanks everyone, you lot are brilliant

This place sometimes restores my faith in humanity. People can be genuinely kind even in this day and age.

In all fairness it was about an hour and I have been, thus far completely defeated by the rear caliper.

The org is definitely the nicest forum I frequent, pistonheads is full of argumentative children and knowledgeable coppers at about a 10,000:1 ratio, and a ktm forum i visit people you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of IYSWIM...

The Org is a wonderfull forum made that way by the excellent people who frequent it.

I've lost count of the number of times i had people offer to help me and also the other way round. Ok my help usualy isnt much more than leading people thru the maze of one way systems into Soho for the friday night meet, or going round while they fix their biks and making cups of tea or saying "oh so thats how that bit works" but hey, i try.
