Default Is it normal?

We are looking after next doors dog so just taken him out for a walk and after about a mile I can hear a tinkling noise-----the bloody cat comes for a walk as well. Only thing its a bit arthritic and it kept stopping for a lie down so I ended up having to carry the bloody thing home.

I couldn't tell you, but I'm in the recovery position laughing.

That is strange, never heard it before

My old cat used to do it a lot.
At first I took him home and locked him in until I got back but after a while I just carried on walking and he beggared off in the end, always found his way home.

Yeah thats normal, the cat following that is, not it taking a lie down. You end up looking like a plank stamping at the floor to try and make it turn around and bugger off home!

We used to have a cat that would follow us practically to the town centre, when we were kids, it would sit under a car in a side street, then when we came back it would come out and follow us back home again. Really odd, but it knew we weren't far away.

Quite common, I've had a few cats that like to go for a walk with me.

They never like to go too far though.

Oh yes. Pookie and Dorothy (see Contentment thread over on piccies) often follow us for a short walk, until they find a mouse to torment.
