Does the VFR use different-thickness buckets to adjust the clearances, instead of shims?

My daughter's Aygo uses this method, the valve check interval is 60,000 miles, although the motor doesn't rev as high so you'd expect less wear.

Yes it does on the VTEC valves. The non VTEC ones are regular shims. The VTEC buckets are £25 each. Glad I managed to swap a couple around. I still spent about £350 on parts for this job in the end though.

new discs and pads on the bike (again). got all my kit on to go for a ride only to get round the block due to bike running like a pile of poo..

why this bike goes through discs is anybody's guess but this is the 4 sets since i have owned the bike.

I had a car that seemed to eat brake discs for some unknown reason.
There must be some explanation for your bike going through so many discs.

Are the discs wearing below threshold bib or warping?

cleaned the rec/reg terminals which then showed that the battery was feked. voltage dropped from 12v to 10v instantly and kept dropping when the ignition was turned on. new battery and things are charging like they should. so a combo of dirty rec/reg terminals and feked battery, i hope.
