is this normal
owning my 1st sv I must ask this question. when I fire it up from cold within a minute the exhaust down pipes and link pipe are very hot. is this normal.

Yes, the typical temperature of exhaust gases at idle even after a cold start is over 300 celsius, and the standard exhaust is stainless steel tube. It will only take a few seconds of idling for the headers to be too hot to touch.
